Welcome to the Old Laboratorians Association (OLsA) platform. By accessing or using our website, mobile applications, and integrated services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to all of these terms, please do not use the platform.

1. Account Registration and Security

• Eligibility: You must be an alumnus or affiliated member of Government Laboratory High School, Dhaka, to create a registered member profile.
• Authentication: You may register and log in using third-party OAuth2 providers, including Google, Facebook, and LinkedIn. By doing so, you grant us permission to access basic profile data as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
• Biometric Security: To enhance account security, you may register your device using its native biometric authentication (e.g., Fingerprint, FaceID). You are responsible for securing your device. OLsA does not store raw biometric data.
• Account Integrity: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

2. User Profiles, CVs, and Personal Data

As a networking platform, OLsA allows you to build a comprehensive professional profile.

• Content Ownership: You retain ownership of the personal data, job history, CVs/resumes, and profile photos you upload. By uploading this content, you grant OLsA a non-exclusive license to display it within the platform to other verified members.
• Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information regarding your academic and professional history.
• Misuse of Directory: You agree not to scrape, mass-download, or misuse fellow members' contact information, addresses, or job histories for unauthorized commercial purposes or spam.

3. Third-Party Integrations and Services

Our platform leverages several external services to provide a seamless experience:

• Google People API: If you opt-in to synchronize the OLsA directory with your Google Contacts, you agree to allow our platform read/write access to your Google Contacts. This feature is provided "as is," and OLsA is not responsible for data loss within your Google account resulting from user error.
• WhatsApp Integration: By providing your phone number, you consent to receive transactional messages, One-Time Passwords (OTPs), and official OLsA notices via the WhatsApp Business API.
• Artificial Intelligence (OpenAI & Google Gemini): We use AI models to power features like resume parsing, advanced search, and content moderation. You acknowledge that AI-generated outputs are for convenience and should be reviewed for accuracy. You agree not to input malicious prompts or attempt to reverse-engineer these AI integrations.

4. Digital Signatures and Electronic Forms

The platform allows you to digitally sign PDF documents (such as membership forms, applications, and election ballots).

• Legal Binding: By applying your digital signature to a document within the OLsA platform, you agree that your electronic signature is the legally binding equivalent to your handwritten signature.
• Audit Trails: You acknowledge that the platform captures cryptographic hashes, timestamps, and IP addresses to verify the authenticity of digitally signed documents.

5. Financial Transactions

All payments, including membership fees, event registrations, and donations, are processed through the SSLCommerz payment gateway.

• Payment Processing: OLsA does not store your credit card or bank account details. You agree to comply with SSLCommerz's terms of service when making a transaction.
• Refund Policy: Unless explicitly stated otherwise for a specific event, all membership fees and donations are non-refundable. Event registration refunds are subject to the specific rules posted for that event.

6. Acceptable Use Policy

While using the OLsA platform, you agree NOT to:

• Violate any local, national, or international laws.
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or attachments that could harm the platform or other members.
• Harass, abuse, or publicly defame other alumni.
• Attempt to bypass security measures, including biometric prompts or OAuth2 tokens.

7. Termination of Account

The OLsA Executive Committee reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account and restrict your access to the platform without prior notice if you violate these Terms and Conditions, misrepresent your alumni status, or engage in behavior detrimental to the association.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OLsA and its Executive Committee shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, third-party API failures, unauthorized access to your account, or inaccuracies in the alumni directory.

9. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Bangladesh. Any disputes arising out of your use of the platform will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

10. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the platform after changes have been posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
